For small consumers: Household clients, small professionals (shops, etc.)

Monthly meter reading

For medium-sized and large consumers. Industrial clients.

Specific meter reading

If a client changes supplier. if there is uncertainty about the accuracy of the meter data. On demand by your supplier.

The meter reading procedure is as follows:

If the meter reader has access to your meter

  1. The meter reader records the meter readings.
  2. The meter readings recorded are passed on to Sibelga for validation.
  3. Sibelga sends the validated meter readings to your energy supplier so that your energy bill can be drawn up.

If the meter reader does not have access to your meter

  1. You receive a letter from Metrix at the latest the month after the meter reader called. This letter asks you your pass on your meter readings.
  2. If you do not provide the meter readings within 15 days following the reception of the letter, the meter readings will be estimated. This estimate is made on the basis of your consumption data over previous years.
  3. The meter readings obtained or estimated are sent to your energy supplier so that your energy bill can be drawn up.

If the meter reader does not have access to your meter to record an interim reading

  1. The meter reader will leave a notice of absence asking you to contact Metrix to make another appointment.
